Is President Trump about to sell his country back to the King of England?

Listen to the NotebookLM AI podcast on this article.

In Donald Trump’s second presidential term, history may take a rather unexpected turn soon. Trump, whom many Americans voted for precisely because he is seen as an anti-globalist patriot, in contrast to globalists like Joe Biden, may soon to be the president who sells his country to the king of these very same globalists– Charles III. How is this even possible? I have been reporting in my blog for years about Trump’s peculiar idolization of the English royals and King Charles, even though they are politically complete opposites. For example, in June 2019, I wrote a blog post titled Why is President Trump Promoting the Cult of the Antichrist? Did Prince Charles Enchant Trump in Their First Meeting?

President Trump has been openly critical of the “woke royals” Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. This is not surprising, as Meghan was known as a typical anti-Trump liberal in Hollywood even before her marriage into the British royal family. However, unlike Harry and Meghan, he has often praised other members of the royal family, including King Charles III. This is not surprising either, as opposition to the royal family has historically been associated with the left in England rather than the right. While Elizabeth II maintained a strict separation from political controversies, and according to England’s constitutional law, a monarch should not divide the nation by interfering in politics or promoting politically controversial opinions in public, Charles himself has already broken this tradition with his many political sermons on climate change.

The issue might not be so significant if he merely delivered politically divisive speeches. However, Charles is also known as a political activist and lobbyist who uses his influential position to entice those at the top of political, economic, or religious power to become advocates for his political agenda. For example, in 2007, the BBC released a documentary titled The Meddling Prince, which revealed his decades-long secret lobbying efforts to sway the decisions of elected ministers through his so-called “black spider memos.”

This lobbying has not been limited to within the United Kingdom but also extends to international institutions such as the UN, the EU, the World Economic Forum, international business and banking leaders, foreign world leaders, and so on. In 2015, he was a keynote speaker at the Paris Climate Conference to persuade the UN’s 193 member states to sign the Paris Agreement. In 2020, he appeared as a keynote speaker at the 50th anniversary of the World Economic Forum and spoke as the representative of those youth who are anxious about the climate change, calling for a paradigm shift in our economic model that “inspires action at a revolutionary level and pace.” Later that year, he launched the now-infamous Great Reset agenda, which, according to the World Economic Forum’s own website, aimed for a global dystopia where “you will own nothing and be happy.”

In the summer of 2021, he gathered 300 leaders of the world’s largest companies at the G7 summit to the ‘Coalition of the Willing’ to promote his radical Terra Carta climate agenda. The wealth managed by these large corporations exceeded $60 trillion, nearly 70% of the world’s GDP. In May 2022, it was revealed that “CEOs and bank executives from American companies participated in a secret meeting with Prince Charles @ClarenceHouse this week to promote ESG goals. Brian Moynihan @BankofAmerica was among the attendees at the Buckingham Palace dinners.” Elon Musk, who is currently working in Trump’s administration, stated at that time that ESG – which refers to a form of “woke capitalism” – is a creation of Satan himself.

The greatest source of wonder is now why a nationalist leader like President Trump, who withdrew from the Paris Climate Agreement and has regarded climate change and the green transition as a globalist scam aimed at destroying the independence of nations and energy self-sufficiency, and who is an openly anti-woke, idolizes someone like Charles, a globalist who has done his best to undermine America’s national independence. But the matter becomes even worse. Trump not only admires Charles III but also plans to sell his country back to him, even America’s forefathers sacrificed their lives fighting for American independence against the tyranny of George III.

The background of this seems to be Trump’s intention to make Canada the 51st state of the United States, which I initially thought was primarily a joke or leftist trolling, or a Nixonian “madman” tactic aimed at deliberately fostering an unpredictable public image as a negotiation tool for achieving his own objectives. Trump’s goal was to make “America great again,” so these attempts to expand American territory across the North American continent wouldn’t necessarily contradict that statement. The United States was quite expansionist throughout the 19th century, as the original 13 colonies only comprised the present-day eastern coastal states of the USA. So why stop the expansion of the country at just its current 50 states?

Either Trump is the greatest or perhaps the most megalomaniac president in American history. And as the proverb goes, “pride comes before a fall.” Instead of leading America to freedom from the chains of globalists, he is leading it directly under the tyranny of the Antichrist. Trump has indeed angered King Charles III with these initiatives, who is not only the monarch of the United Kingdom but also the monarch of Canada. Canada may no longer be part of the British Empire, but it is still a member state of the Commonwealth, which consists of former colonies of the empire, and thus Charles III is also its nominal head of state.

Therefore, these Trump statements about the annexation of Canada to the United States have already led Charles III to defend Canada’s “independence.” It is fair to ask why Charles does not then renounce his position as Canada’s monarch if he truly wants to defend Canada’s sovereignty. It is somewhat similar to if Sweden’s Charles IV Adolf had criticized Russia’s Alexander I for violating Finland’s independence after the Finnish War of 1808-09. However, Charles III and President Trump may have already reached an agreement in their modern-day colonial territorial disputes. Charles has actually proposed a compromise to Trump: “You take Canada, and I will take the United States.”

I suspect that the king may not have phrased the matter in those exact words, but this is the kind of solution Trump is now seriously considering, even though the country fought against the King of England in its civil war. I quote Newsweek’s report:

President Donald Trump suggested that the United States could join the British Commonwealth on Friday in a post to Truth Social, his social media platform.

The president shared an article from British tabloid The Sun reporting that King Charles III was making a “secret offer” to the White House, and that plans are in process for the U.S. to become an associate member of the international organization.

“I Love King Charles. Sounds good to me!” Trump wrote in response to the report.

Newsweek has reached out to the Commonwealth for comment via email Friday afternoon.

Why It Matters
The Commonwealth is primarily comprised of former British colonies or dependencies, born out of the breakup of the British Empire in the mid-20th century. Joining such a group could be seen as a different tact to Trump’s other messages on groups such as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the United Nations (U.N.), which he has been skeptical of.

What To Know
According to The Daily Mail, the king is expected to make the offer to make the U.S. the 57th member of the Commonwealth at a time when America’s relationship with the European Union (EU) has been strained over Ukraine in its ongoing war with Russia.

The offer is being seen as a way to bolster the U.S. and United Kingdom’s so-called “special relationship”, despite America having famously split from British rule in the 1700s. The two countries have frequently worked together on foreign policy in the 20th and 21st centuries.

While joining the Commonwealth would largely be symbolic, as the group does not affect governance of its member nations, the move could be used to help avoid the heightened tariffs on steel and aluminum Trump has promised, according to The Daily Mail.

Although the United States’ accession to the Commonwealth could be merely a diplomatic and symbolic gesture to further strengthen the already special relationship between the USA and Britain, in practice, it could also make Charles the nominal monarch of the United States, thus positioning the king’s power at least symbolically above that of the president. This might be less alarming if Charles were perceived as a politically neutral and nonpartisan monarch like Elizabeth II. However, Charles stands in stark contrast to President Trump’s political line and agenda, and in this role, he could use his influence against decisions made by the president. Moreover, Charles is known privately for his anti-American views. His biographer, Robert Jobson, noted in his book Charles at 70: Thoughts, Hopes and Dreams.

Charles’s lack of trust of America is a recurring theme. He is not only critical of their lack of a coherent Middle East policy, but deeply concerned by the US’s refusal to sign up to any international convention on climate change – a stance made even worse by the current incumbent in the White House, President Donald Trump. Charles is also ‘horrified’ by US agri-industrial activities – the appalling animal welfare and environmental consequences of the cattle-feed-lot system… US administrations from George W. Bush to Donald Trump, Charles believes, have promulgated the industrialisation of nature throughout inherent unsustainable agricultural methods. ‘The Prince,’ one of his circle told me, ‘finds the U.S. society — which in his view contains a ‘worryingly large element’ of born-again evangelical, fundamentalist Christians for whom the Old Testament seems more important than the New, and who take it literally — deeply worrying.’ – Jobson, Robert. Charles at Seventy – Thoughts, Hopes & Dreams: Thoughts, Hopes and Dreams (p. 237).

The king’s views are not much different from those of Osama bin Laden, who wrote:

You have polluted nature with your industrial waste and gases more than any other nation in history. Despite this, you refuse to sign the Kyoto Protocol in order to protect the profits of your greedy companies and industries.

And now Trump plans to hand over control of his country to this hater of America and Israel, who lamented in his 1986 letter that no U.S. president dared to take action against the US’ “Jewish lobby.” I am not the only person who generally has a sympathetic view of Trump who has been puzzled by this naivety. Even Alex Jones, who was one of Trump’s most significant supporters in the 2016, 2020, and 2024 elections, has threatened revolution if Trump intends to sell his country to the King of England. Newsweek reported on March 29: “Donald Trump suffers a MAGA backlash over Commonwealth proposal: ‘Hell no!’”

President Donald Trump suggesting he could accept any potential invitation from King Charles III to join the Commonwealth has led one fan to warn: “You will lose 95 percent of your support base.”

Trump responded to an article in U.K. tabloid The Sun suggesting Charles could invite the U.S. to become an associate member of the Commonwealth, which has the king as its head.

There has been no official confirmation of the story but the president wrote “I Love King Charles. Sounds good to me!” on Truth Social prompting a clapback online.

MAGA Reactions to Donald Trump Wanting to Join The Commonwealth

Trump’s Truth Social post sparked numerous negative responses from supporters.

“Mr President, with all due respect, hell no!” one wrote. “If we wanted to be part of England, we would not have elected you!

“We escaped the tyranny of England a very long time ago, and there is NOTHING the so called ‘king’ can offer which would be advantageous.

“Stand strong, straight and proud. God bless you and God bless Americans!! 🦅🇺🇸”

Another wrote: “NO! King Charles has been amongst the top players of WEF, for years. He’s a globalist. Americans do not want to join their Commonwealth. The U.K. allowed itself to fall to muslim invaders & Charles has ‘secret offer’ for you? Hard no from ALL of your supporters!”

“HELL NO !!! We left UK & kicked their asses once,” said a third. “NEVER going back. Personally I don’t associate with TYRANTS. All of their ‘commonwealth’ can F off, eh !!! SCUMBAGS !!!”

And a fourth wrote: “If he is giving you a title deed for Canada you will gain 100 million supporters.

“If you accept membership into the Crown commonwealth you will lose 95% of your support base and take our country back to that which our founders Revolted and died to get away from.”

Alex Jones Warns of Revolution

Alex Jones, of Infowars, also launched a broadside against the suggestion on X: “I’ve got a message for Donald Trump. If you really try to make America join the British Commonwealth, 1776 will commence again!

“Americans everywhere are shocked by President Trump’s announcement that he may attempt to put King Charles at the head of the United States of America, literally reversing the world-changing achievement of the American Revolution in 1776.”

The post, which has been viewed 4.9 million times and liked 17,000 times, shows Jones saying: “When I learned this information earlier today it was like a punch in the stomach. I couldn’t even believe it. So I went and researched it and it’s true.

“I love Trump overall, I love what he’s doing but sometimes he does just the most terrible things.”

He added “it’s hard to match King Charles’ corruption and evil” and said British Prime Minister Keir Starmer “actually does and may even surpass it.”

In a 2008 report, The Guardian noted how Charles’ inner circle planned to subtly change the role of the monarchy so that Charles could act more as an activist king rather than just a symbolic head of state. According to those plans, Charles eventually would “speak for the nation and to the nation on platforms such as the European parliament or the US Congress. Critics said yesterday that an ‘activist king’ could lead to an abuse of undemocratic power and could undermine the monarchy if Charles expressed opinions which were divisive or invited ridicule.” It could be somewhat awkward if Charles were invited to speak at the U.S. Congress as the nominal head of state, and in his speech, he criticizes the sitting president’s policies on climate and environmental issues, leading Congress Democrats to show him standing ovation while Republicans protested against the king. Perhaps at that moment, even President Trump’s affection for the king could dissipate quite quickly. He might head to TruthSocial or X and post something like:

I didn’t know that His Majesty CHARLES III is a LEFTIST LUNATIC ! He should have stayed in the country he came from. Our great American heroes fought with their blood against the inbred ancestor of his, GEORGE III, to win our independence, and now we must fight against his descendant to preserve it… because I allowed him to be the KING of OUR BEAUTIFUL UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

President Trump may be playing that famous 4D chess, but perhaps Charles III is playing 5D chess and has managed to outsmart Trump due to his own ego.

The king’s recent speech in the Italian Parliament was the first time in history that an English monarch addressed the Italian Parliament. Previously, he became the first British monarch to speak in the French Parliament. Charles is undeniably skilled in languages. In the German Parliament, he delivered nearly his entire speech in German, in the French Parliament in French, and in the Italian Parliament in Italian. And these are not the only languages he can speak in addition to his native tongue.
