Are the Jews ready to sacrifice a red heifer this year to build the third temple, as I have been predicting since 2016?

Listen to the article.

Christian news website Charisma wrote in February 2025: “Something extraordinary is happening in Israel, and many Christians aren’t paying attention. The prophetic clock is ticking, and at the center of it all is a biblical mystery—the red heifer. For thousands of years, this seemingly obscure ritual has held deep significance in Jewish law, yet its relevance to prophecy and the future of Israel have never been more critical than they are today. Gary Stearman, host of Prophecy Watchers, recently sat down with co-host Mondo Gonzalez to discuss the red heifer’s role in end-times prophecy. If you’ve never heard of the red heifer, you’re not alone. As Stearman puts it, “Most Christians are not familiar with it at all.” Yet, its importance is undeniable, particularly when it comes to the rebuilding of the Third Temple.”

James Lasher’s report continued

The Biblical Requirement
According to Numbers 19, God commanded the Israelites to bring forth a red heifer—a female cow without blemish, never yoked or used for labor—to be sacrificed. Its ashes would then be mixed with water and used for ritual purification, particularly to cleanse those who had come into contact with the dead.

Without this purification, Jewish law deems it impossible to approach God in the temple. As Gonzalez explains, “The one thing that is not complete yet is the red heifer ritual.” In other words, without the ashes of the red heifer, the Third Temple cannot be fully operational.

A Historic Development
For the first time in 2,000 years, qualified red heifers have arrived in Israel. Five red cows were brought over in September 2022, and three still remain viable candidates for the sacred ritual. This is a monumental event. “This is the first time in 2,000 years that they’ve had a qualified red heifer,” Stearman points out. And yet, mainstream media is silent.

Without this purification, according to Jewish law, God could not be approached in the temple. As Gonzalez explains, “the only thing that is not yet complete is the ritual of the red heifer.” In other words, without the ashes of the red heifer, the Third Temple cannot be fully operational.

Why Should Christians Care?
At this point, some might ask, “What does this have to do with us?” After all, as believers in Jesus Christ, we know that salvation comes through His sacrifice, not through temple rituals. Hebrews 9:13-14 draws the connection: if the ashes of a red heifer could provide purification in the Old Covenant, “how much more the blood of Jesus” cleanses us completely?

Stearman acknowledges this perspective but reminds us of something crucial: “We live under the blessing of the New Covenant… but the Jewish people don’t know that yet.” They are still striving to restore the temple and its sacrificial system, unaware that the ultimate sacrifice has already been made.completely?

A Prophetic Warning
For those following prophecy, the pieces are falling into place. As Gonzalez warns, “The tribulation period is going to be a time when they’re going to be duped by the Antichrist.” Scripture tells us that temple sacrifices will resume, only for the Antichrist to halt them midway through the Tribulation (see Dan. 9:27). In light of this, the renewed push for a Third Temple and the arrival of these red heifers should be setting off alarm bells.

Even Israel’s enemies are taking notice. Hamas, in a statement after the October 2023 attacks, admitted that one of their reasons for striking Israel was because of the red heifers. Think about that—terrorist organizations are tracking biblical prophecy. Shouldn’t Christians be doing the same?

I first heard about these red heifers around the year 2023 and learned then how important they are for the construction of the third temple. At the same time, I have been predicting in my blog for nearly a decade that the year 2025 could be crucial regarding the building of the third temple. In October 2016, just a month before Donald Trump was elected for his first term, I published an article in my blog titled Prophecy Alert: Prince Charles visited Jerusalem for Shimon Peres’ funeral just before the end of the jubilee year as a significant step towards the fulfillment of Daniel 9:27, with the prince who initiates the 70th week. What can we expect to happen in the next three years?

Although I reasoned in that article for the now erroneous theory that Daniel’s 70th week could be placed in the years 2019-26, I mentioned for the first time the prophetic significance of the year 2025. I calculated that in the spring of 2025, the 70th Jubilee year would begin in the Israeli calendar. That is, if Jubilees are counted from the spring of 1406 BC onward – the year the Israelites arrived in the land of Canaan 40 years after the Exodus, according to the widely respected biblical scholar E.R. Thielen – then the 70th Jubilee year would begin around this time.

This logic is based on how jubilee years were calculated according to the ancient Jewish method, where the 50th jubilee year is also the first year of a new jubilee cycle; thus, the second jubilee year is not the 100th year but the 99th year, and the 70th jubilee year is not the 3500th year but the 3430th year. The time span is therefore 3430 years, since 1406 + 2025 = 3431, but with the absence of a year zero, it is actually 3430 years. Therefore, in the spring of 2025, it will be 49 x 70 years since the Israelites arrived in the land of Canaan in the spring of 1406 (according to Thielen’s calculations, the Exodus occurred during the Jewish Passover in the spring of 1446, and the wilderness wandering lasted 40 years, leading us to 1406 BC). From this, the counting of weeks and jubilee years began according to Leviticus chapter 25.

The Jubilee years were based on years divisible by seven because it symbolizes that God created the world in six days and rested on the seventh. Thus, the years were to be divided into six years of labor and the seventh year into a sabbatical year, and then seven years were to be multiplied by seven to obtain 49 years, followed by the 50th jubilee year. However, if the jubilee years could also be divisible by seven, then the total length of the jubilee cycle must be 49 years, not 50 years. Only then can 70 jubilee years equal 7x7x70 years. But here, one more aspect must be considered, which I correctly noted in my blog in 2016: the 70th jubilee year does not end in the spring of 2025, but rather begins then.

In the spring of 2025, 70 jubilee cycles will be completed, but the 70th jubilee year will be the year 3431, as a jubilee year always followed 49 years, and the 49th year itself was not yet a jubilee year. For example, two jubilee cycles equal 98 years (49×2=98), but the second jubilee year is the subsequent 99th year. Therefore, since the Hebrew year can begin either in the spring month of Nisan or the fall month of Tishrei, the 70th jubilee year will end at the earliest in the spring of 2026 and at the latest in the fall of 2026. However, this was the timeframe—spring 2025 to fall 2026—that I considered prophetically significant nearly nine years ago.

Although I admit that in my original assessments I did not present the year 2025 as the year for the establishment of the temple, I speculated on this scenario in my article published in January 2023, Will Jesus’ Second Coming Happen Within the Next Ten Years? My Thoughts on the Years 2023 – 2033 in Light of the Biblical Sabbath Calendar. I wrote there as follows:

Therefore, it would make sense to think that the second coming of our Lord or related end-time events occur at the same time as the 70th Jubilee of Israel, which, from 1406 BC, falls in the years 2025-26. Interestingly, it also coincides with the 77th anniversary of the establishment of the present state of Israel. The year 2025 cannot be the date of Jesus’ public return to earth, because it must be preceded by a seven-year period of wrath, during the last half of which the Antichrist will defile the rebuilt Jewish temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. But it is possible that 2025 will see, for example, the establishment of that third temple.

As I mentioned, this spring the current state of Israel will celebrate its 77th anniversary while the 70th jubilee begins in the ancient calendar of Israel. An interesting harmony of sevens. Since January 2017, I have also predicted that President Donald Trump may have a significant role in the establishment of the third temple. For instance, in January 2017, I published an article titled Why I believe that the year 2017 might signify the fulfillment of the “times of the Gentiles”? Does the year 2017 merely mark the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, or did the Reformers believe it would be the end of history as we know it? What did a medieval Jewish rabbi named Judah Ben Samuel prophesy about it?.

I prophesied accurately that Trump would move the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem and recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. I also predicted that this would likely occur between December 2017 and May 2018. The recognition happened in December 2017, and the official opening of the embassy in Jerusalem took place in May 2018. How on earth did I know this a year and a half in advance? Do I have a crystal ball at home? No, but my “crystal ball” is the Bible, supported and complemented by prophecies outside of the Bible.

For example, in that article, I referred to the medieval Jewish prophet Judah Ben Samuel’s vision of the year 2017’s significance and the biblical Sabbath calendar where prophetically significant events often occur every 7 years, 49 years, 70 years, 77 years, or 490 years. The years 2016-17 marked the completion of 49 years since the Six-Day War in 1967, when the Jews reclaimed Jerusalem after a 19-century diaspora (which incidentally began in 70 AD). Additionally, in November-December 2017, it marked 70 years since the UN partition plan on November 29, 1947, which granted the blessing of the Gentile nations for the establishment of a Jewish state.

In May 2018, the state of Israel celebrated its 70th anniversary. Therefore, I concluded—along with other signs of the times—that the election of Donald Trump, who was considered the “dark horse” of the elections, as President of the United States would indicate a development whose main stage would be Jerusalem, and the climax of the drama would ultimately lead to the construction of the Third Temple by the Jews. For example, the fact that Republicans are generally known to be a more sympathetic party to Israel than Democrats, and that Trump, in particular, was known for his numerous close ties to Jews and Israel, was one reason why I considered Trump’s victory more likely than Hillary Clinton’s victory, contrary to the assessments of all the “experts” in the secular media.

Hillary’s presidency would have meant merely a continuation of Obama’s policies, and thus, for example, the recognition of Jerusalem would have never happened. For a Christian studying prophecies, Israel serves as the “clock of time,” which is why Trump was a better candidate for accelerating the prophetic events preceding Jesus’s second coming, even in Israel. In 2017, the timing for such an event was just right due to its connection with sevens, which is often how God operates in history. Although I had consistently predicted since the summer of 2020 that Trump would receive a second term – and continued to make this prediction during Biden’s administration – I was wrong in stating that Trump’s second term would take place from 2021 to 2025, or that he would return to office before 2025 (I publicly apologized for this in January 2023).

But perhaps the beginning of Trump’s second term was intended to extend to 2025, as it coincides with God’s prophetic sabbatical calendar, just like in 2017. Prophetically speaking, I have regarded Trump as a sort of Cyrus the Great figure, a Gentile leader who, like Persian King Cyrus, would build a temple for Israel. Therefore, I asked in my blog back in August 2024: Does the biblical prophecy of the end times require Trump’s return to the presidency as “the new Cyrus the Great” for the prophecy of the third temple in Jerusalem to come to pass?. This prediction of mine was in line with all my previous writings, which I had presented regarding Trump’s eschatological role since January 2017. In January 2017, I wrote:

Donald Trump may indeed be our time’s Cyrus the Great, whom God raised to office for this very purpose – the construction of the third temple in Jerusalem, so that the 70th week of years could begin and the events of Revelation could come to pass before the disappearance of the generation that witnessed the “fig tree miracle” (Matt. 24:32-34) or the rebirth of the state of Israel, between 2018 and 2028 (Ps. 90:1).

Pointtini is not to boast about prior knowledge but to indicate that perhaps the methods through which I have come to make these accurate predictions are not entirely wrong. Maybe the Almighty God guides the course of history according to His plans so that the prophecies of the Bible can be fulfilled at their predetermined time. The Jewish Passover, Pesach, began yesterday, Saturday, April 12, and ends on Sunday, April 20. This may be a time when Orthodox Jews of the temple institution try to sacrifice a red heifer according to Jewish law. This was attempted last year’s Passover but was prevented for political reasons. In his another article, James Lasher writes.

One of the biggest developments involves the red heifer purification ceremony, an essential step toward restoring temple worship. “The ceremony … was supposed to happen in the Passover to Pentecost window of 2024,” Gonzales explained. However, due to the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks and tensions with the Biden administration, plans were put on hold.

But things have changed. With Trump in office, Israeli rabbis are suddenly hopeful. “With Trump now in, the rabbis … are living on cloud nine in believing that this could be the year,” Gonzales noted. The momentum is back, and with major Jewish festivals on the horizon, many believe the red heifer ceremony could happen sooner rather than later.

One of the key factors in the urgency? The red heifers themselves. “The longer they wait, the longer there’s a potential for the three remaining red heifers to become disqualified,” Gonzales pointed out. As they age, even a single gray hair could render them unusable for the purification rites.

Adding another layer to this unfolding story is Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s personal conviction. According to Gonzales, Robert Mawire revealed that “Netanyahu told [him] privately … ‘I feel that God has called me to be the prime minister who helps rebuild the third temple.’” Whether a true divine calling or a political calculation, his statement raises eyebrows—and expectations.

There is indeed urgency from the Jewish perspective regarding the offering of red heifers and the reconstruction of the temple. The unique red heifers, which have not been born in the last 2000 years, are aging and will soon be unfit for the ritual’s lawful performance.1 Today, Israel also has an unprecedentedly right-wing and religious government that could give the green light for the ritual, despite the feelings it evokes among Israel’s Arab population and Palestinians. And Trump, who has been the most sympathetic president to Israel in all of American history, can only remain in office according to the U.S. Constitution until 2028. It is by no means certain that the political conditions will be equally favorable both in Israel and America after 2028.

The next three and a half years are therefore the time window in which the conditions for building the temple would be best from a Jewish perspective. Such an idea would not be considered as radical today as it was just a few years ago. I quoted an article from Jerusalem Post in my blog in May 2022, which stated even then:

Over a decade ago, Temple activists first began holding Passover sacrifice reenactments, and actually I can remember these activities to hasten the rebuilding of the Temple were talked about for decades. The notion of reviving Temple sacrifices has been perceived in the past in Israel as extremism that might incite Muslim retaliation. And so civil authorities refused to grant permits to hold such ceremonies in Jerusalem. The police actively prohibited attempts to bring sheep into the Old City for sacrifice.

However, the mood is changing. The police and the Jerusalem municipality now reportedly view the rehearsal as another totally acceptable public happening, an event they want to see take place. Apparently even mainstream media have begun to accept Temple preparation activities not as a fringe idea but an important aspect of Jewish culture. A Temple spokesman reportedly said, “It seems clear one day, sooner than we imagine, that the sacrifices will happen, on the Temple Mount itself, and no one will think it is an extremist event. In truth, anyone who reads the Bible knows this is our ongoing history.”

This was before the October 7th terrorist attacks, which Hamas referred to as the “Al-Aqsa Flood,” and specifically acknowledged that the importation of red heifers into Israel for the purpose of rebuilding the temple was the reason why they brutally killed 1,200 Jews and took 250 others hostage in the tunnels of Gaza. While many secular Israelis may perhaps look upon such ancient blood rituals based on the Law of Moses with disdain, an increasing number of secular Jews are now speaking in their support as a protest against Hamas and Islamist terror, whose aim is to make Jews live in fear in their own sovereign land and to prevent their access to their own sovereign Temple Mount, which represents the ultimate national and historical symbol of the Jewish national identity, even for the secular Jews of the land.

You do not need to believe in the law of Moses, the old or new covenant, to agree that the Temple Mount stands as a reminder that two ancient temples once stood there in Israel, and that Islamists use the mosques on the Temple Mount as an excuse to justify violence against innocent Jews, to erase the Jewish history of the land, and to deny Jewish people the right to live in their own land. For this reason, even Christian Zionists who love Israel can agree that Jews should have full sovereignty over their holiest mountain and the right to their temple, regardless of the fact that the animal sacrifices of the Mosaic covenant are no longer religiously valid – because, according to Paul, the new covenant established at Golgotha nullified their power.

The Bible does not support the idea that the Antichrist would build a temple for himself in Jerusalem, as the future third temple is never referred to as the Antichrist’s temple; instead, it is called God’s temple, which the Antichrist will defile and desecrate, and from which he will remove the Jewish animal sacrifices (Dan. 8:13-14, 9:27, 11:31, Matt. 24:15, 2 Thess. 2:4). However, one can only defile and desecrate that which is already sacred to God. Therefore, the third temple itself must be a holy project pleasing to God, even if He does not approve of the associated animal sacrifices.

If the Jews do not sacrifice the red heifer during the upcoming Passover or in the following months, the next possible time would be autumn, as the Jewish festivals in spring and autumn are among the most important in the Hebrew calendar. However, this may require some political arrangement in which President Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu could play key roles. Below is a video referencing rumors that Trump has already made a secret agreement with Netanyahu in which the Temple Mount would be transferred to Israel’s complete ownership contrary to its current status quo in which the mount is under the protection of the Jordanian king’s Islamic Wakf organization.

The current status quo of Temple Mount is the only factor that has prevented the construction of the third temple, and therefore its demolition is crucial before the temple’s foundations can be laid. Itamar Ben-Gvir, the Minister of National Security working in Netanyahu’s government, has been the loudest critic of the status quo and has demanded the return of ownership of the mountain to the Jews. If Netanyahu has indeed said that he believes God has called him to be the Prime Minister to assist in the rebuilding of the third temple, it may also be a political arrangement through which he ensures the preservation of his office and legacy, as many Israelis are now blaming Netanyahu for the events of October 7 and the ensuing war.

At the same time, the members of his own government begin to turn against him unless he does something radical, such as showing the green light for the reconstruction of the temple, which could be seen as a symbol of national pride and victory among secular Jews as well – a sign of the Jewish people’s steadfastness in the midst of global anti-Semitism. When “the nations rage and the peoples plot vain things” (Ps. 2:1), when they demand “the liberation of Palestine from river to sea,” the chosen people of God rise even higher. To conclude with the words of the Psalmist:

He who sits in the heavens laughs,
The Lord scoffs at them.
Then He will speak to them in His anger
And terrify them in His fury, saying,
“But as for Me, I have installed My King
Upon Zion, My holy mountain.”

“I will announce the decree of the Lord:
He said to Me, ‘You are My Son,
Today I have fathered You.
Ask it of Me, and I will certainly give the nations as Your inheritance,
And the ends of the earth as Your possession.
You shall break them with a rod of iron,
You shall shatter them like earthenware.’”

Now then, you kings, use insight;
Let yourselves be instructed, you judges of the earth.
Serve the Lord with reverence
And rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son, that He not be angry and you perish on the way,
For His wrath may be kindled quickly.
How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!

  1. According to the latest comments from Temple Institute representatives, the red heifers originally imported from Texas would have already begun to grow grey hair, making them ineligible for the legal sacrificial ritual. At the same time, however, Byron Stinson, the Christian man who brought the heifers from Texas to Israel, has claimed that they would still have two eligible heifers. Others have also suspected that the statements by Temple Institute representatives would be a red herring for security reasons, as Hamas is also closely monitoring this development for the sacrifice of heifers. Well time will tell. It would be extraordinary if the whole project of sacrificing the heifers were to come to a standstill after years of fuss and preparation when expectations have been high among both orthodox Jews and evangelical Christians.

This video from April 12 claims that only two out of five red heifers would be declared ineligible and three of the cows would still be eligible for the specified Jewish sacrificial requirements. In Jewish history only 9 perfect red heifers have been sacrificed in the past, which shows how rare they are and thus the occurrence of one in our time is an example again of how all the pieces of biblical prophecy must fit together precisely. According to the video, a red heifer should be at least 3 years old and when they were brought to Israel in September 2022, they were less than a year old. I also checked with ChatGPT, and it said the cows shouldn’t be more than four years old either, which would mean they would have to be sacrificed this year because by next year it would be too late.
